Ingredients
  

For the Crust:

  • 1 box Yellow cake mix Use for the crust
  • ½ cup (1 stick) Unsalted butter (melted) Used in both crust and filling
  • 1 large Egg Used in crust

For the Filling:

  • 8 oz package Cream cheese (softened) For the filling
  • 2 large Eggs Used in filling
  • 1 tsp Vanilla extract Enhances flavor
  • 4 cups Powdered sugar For the filling
  • ½ cup (1 stick) Unsalted butter (melted) Used in both crust and filling

Instructions
 

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish with butter or cooking spray.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the yellow cake mix, 1 egg, and ½ cup melted butter. Mix until well blended to form a thick dough. Press this mixture evenly into the bottom of the prepared baking dish.
  • In another bowl, beat the softened cream cheese and 2 eggs until smooth. Gradually add in the powdered sugar and vanilla extract, mixing until well combined.
  • Pour the cream cheese mixture over the crust in the baking dish. Spread it evenly across the surface.
  • Bake the cake in the preheated oven for 40–45 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and slightly set. The center should still be slightly gooey.
  • Let the cake cool completely before slicing to allow the gooey filling to set. Once cooled, slice and serve.

Notes

For the best results, make sure to use room-temperature ingredients, especially the cream cheese and butter. This helps create a smooth, lump-free filling. Don't overbake the cake—it's meant to be slightly gooey in the center. If you're unsure, gently shake the pan; the cake should jiggle just a bit in the middle when done. Allow the cake to cool completely before cutting to help the filling set and prevent messy slices.
